Well done to the U-14 girls for a great win over Newmarket this Sunday evening, May 16th in Scarriff. In the first of the two U-14 finals ( Shield & Cup) on the Programme, Clooney played Newmarket. After loosing out with the narrowest of margins a few weeks back in Newmarket, the Clooney girls made sure of a win this time, with a full time score of 3-3 to 1-3. With every member of the Team having an excellent game, the win was more than deserved.

Team members included: Emma Deegan, Shauna Duggan, Shauna Ryan, Siobhan Halpin, Ciara Grogan, Hannah Leonard, Caoimhe Horner, Aoibheann Duggan, Jane Halpin, Nicola McNamara, Hannah O'Brien, Niamh Ni Chearrabhallain, Aine Nash, Jessica Leamy, Ellen Liddy, Ciara Moynihan, Maeve Clune, Laura Haugh, Eimear McGrath, Ciara Donnelly, Alice O'Donnell, Sarah Costelloe, Orlaith Nash, Caitlin McNamara, Jennifer O'Neill.

Management Team: Brian Leamy, Aisling Hannon, Cillian Duggan, Paudie Ward & Ray Ryan.

Clooney-Quin girls travelled to Newmarket-on-Fergus last Sunday evening to take on the home side in the third round of the U-14 A camogie championship and were most unlucky when going under to the Blues by the minimum margin on a final scoreline of Newmarket 2-02 to Clooney-Quin's 2-01.

The visitors seized the early initiative and, following some outstanding play by our girls, they were two points ahead at the break. As expected, Newmarket piled on the pressure in the second-half, but Clooney battled bravely and could be deemed unfortunate not to have at least earned a share of the spoils having been out of luck with some late scoring efforts.

Nevertheless, the girls were fantastic and are certainly moulding into a very nice squad as they continue their build-up to Feile 2010.

Clooney-Quin's final game in this group is Vs St Joseph's and this game is scheduled to take place next Tuesday evening, May 4th.

Anyone travelling to the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday to the Clare versus Tipperary Munster hurling semi-final might keep an eye out for Clooney/Quins Shauna Ryan representing Scoil na Mainistreach, Quin in the Primary Game. She will line out for Clare as they take on their Tipperary counterparts as part of the events of the Big Day. Best of Luck, Shauna!
The Team Mentors include our own Eleanor Gallagher and Sheelagh Daffy.

U14 Camogie match this evening at 6.30pm in Newmarket. Players are asked to be in Newmarket at 6.00pm.
