Clooney-Quin got their 2011 Under 16A campaign off to a winning start last week when they registered a 6-04 to 0-04 victory over near neighbors St Joseph's at Clooney.The local girls played really well on the evening against the somewhat under-strength visiting side and Clooney, who are looked after by Kelly McClean, Brian Leamy and Ray Ryan, will take on Newmarket-on-Fergus in the next round.

 Clooney line-up:  Shauna Ryan: Hannah Leonard, Jennifer Leamy, Cathy Halpin; Siobhan Halpin, Jenny Costello, Shauna Duggan; Aisling Corbett, Cora O'Grady; Aoibheann Duggan, Laura Costello, Nicola McNamara; Caoimhe Horner, Nicole O'Riordan, Jessica Leamy. Subs(all used): Aine Nash, Eimeair McGrath, Kate Daffy.

  On a cold and wet Saturday in Gurteen, Clooney Quin won the U16A Camogie Shield final. The final scoreline was Clooney Quin 2-6 Wolfe Tones 1-0.

After a fully deserved victory over near neighbours, Doora Barefield this evening, Clooney Quin girls advanced to the U16 A Championship Shield final.

Clooney Quin led from start to finish in a match played under lights at Gurteen. The girls played very well in all areas, especially the forwards who converted most opportunities. Clooney Quin ran out easy winners with a scoreline of 6-4 to 0 -0.

They now play Wolf Tones in the Shield final. This game will be played on Sat the 31st. Time and venue to be announced.

The U16A Camogie championship starts tomorrow evening with a game against Sixmilebridge. The game is on in Clooney at 6.00pm. All players are requested to be at pitch by 5.30pm

U16 camogie training is on this evening  from 6.00pm to 7.00pm.

All players are asked to attend as there is a championship match next Wednesday against Sixmilebridge.
