The Junior "A" hurlers defeated Ogonnelloe 3-12 to 4-10 in a most entertaining game on Saturday evening last to complete their four-game League programme, having secured three wins, with only one defeat away to Smith O'Briens.
They then had to wait until Tuesday evening to find out if this was good enough to force a 3-way playoff for a place in the Final against Newmarket.
St. Josephs duly secured the win away to the Killaloe which resulted in all three teams going into a hat for the play-off. The resulting draw pitted Clooney/Quin against St. Josephs, with the winner playing Smith O'Briens for the remaining Final place.
This local derby will take place on Sunday week, July 12th.
