At the first Club Executive meeting of 2009, a number of decisions were made in regard to Adult Hurling for the coming season........

Having examined the number of players aged 17 years and over, the following issues were decided;

1) There will be two Under 21 teams, the first group to compete in the "A" Grade, with the second group contesting the "C" Grade.

2) Once again, we will enter four adult hurling teams, to compete at Senior and Intermediate, along with two Junior sides.

3) The Club are to submit a request to Clare Co. Board that our third team, who were relegated to Junior "B" Grade for 2009, be re-instated to Junior "A" Championship Grade.

It can be seen from the above, that there is a huge interest from players to play hurling.
A significant number of these players have been actively involved in Club sides for a number of years. There are also those who have previously played and have taken an "Early Retirement", so to speak. Perhaps this is the season when these lads can avail of the opportunity being provided by the Club and get back in action. There was a significant number of players that did just that in 2008, and all thoroughly enjoyed their season. Why not try and get even more of these "Lapsed Hurlers" back into action in '09??

There may also be those who have moved into the Parish who may have an interest in playing for the Club. If any Member is aware of any such person, why not ask them if they would like to join, or contact a Member of the Club Executive who would make that initial approach?
