Our Senior hurlers, along with opponents, Smith O'Briens, will get the 2009 County Senior Hurling Championship race rolling when the sides meet in the first round tie in Meelick, tomorrow, Friday May 15th.
Having come so close to a quarter final place last year, the squad have been focussed on going further this year in the race for the Canon Hamilton trophy.
Smith O'Briens have been competing in Senior grade since winning the 2004 Intermediate Final, when they defeated Clooney.  The sides drew the Final when it was played in Sixmilebridge, with the South East Clare side winning the replay in Cusack Park a week later.
Hopes are high that the Clooney/Quin lads can avenge the 2004 defeat. However, nothing but our best performance will suffice, as Smith O'Briens have an ideal mix of youth and experience. Get to Meelick to support our Lads. Throw-in is at 7.15PM.
