Clooney/Quin senior hurlers captured the Clare 7-A-Side competition to mark the 125th Anniversary of the GAA when they defeated Cratloe in an entertaining Final in O'Gearney Park, Sixmilebridge this Saturday evening, June 20th.
They began the competition early in the morning with a win over their hosts Tulla, followed by a win over Parteen. These wins qualified them for a semi-final clash with Kilmaley, a game they won in fine style. In the Final, the teams were evenly matched in the first half, but the Clooney/Quin lads turned on the style in the second peroid and were deserving winners at the final whistle.
After the game, Clare 125th Anniversary Committee Chairman, Johnny Hill presented Clooney/Quin Captain, Conor Harrison with the Crystal Trophy.
