The Senior hurlers completed their Clare Cup campaign with a merited win over visitors Cratloe at a very wet Hennessy Memorial Park on Thursday July 31st......
Just before throw-in, heavy rain struck the venue and continued unabaited for the duration of the match. In spite of the trecherous conditions, both sides served up a very keenly contested game of hurling. There was never more than a puck of a ball between the sides throughout, and this is how it ended, with the Clooney lads ahead on a 12 pts to 10 scoreline.
Attention now turns to the resumption of the Senior Championship in three weeks time when Clooney/Quin take on neighbours, O'Callaghans Mills.
