Clooney/Quin U-14 Hurlers notched up their first championship win when they beat the Feile finalists, Clonlara at home on Tuesday evening.
After a fine 1st half performance our boys held a 1.5 to 0.4 lead at the break. The East Clare side made a hard battle of it in the 2nd half but the home team showed great character to finish strongly and claim a merited 2.9 to 1.7 victory.
Fergal Culligan is certainly relishing his switch to the forwards as he followed up his goal against Clarecastle last week with two goals in this game.
Other scorers were: Paul Leamy 3pts, Colin Haugh and Richard Hennessy 2pts each, Conor Clune and Ryan Taylor 1pt each.
