U-21 Hurling

Its the Big Throw-in on Thursday next, March 17th as our first team in Championship action takes to the field in the 1st Round of the Under 21 "B" Hurling Championship.
The opposition will be our neighbours, Crusheen. As with all meetings of the sides, this game will stir up great rivalry between both Parishes, and this St. Patricks Day clash promises to provide another great contest.
The game has a 12 noon throw-in at the Eire Og GAA grounds, so lets get out and support the Clooney-Quin lads!
The Under 21 "A" hurlers were defeated by Inagh/Kilnamona in the First Round of the County Championship. A two-goal burst in the 18th minute of the first half, followed by a third goal from a semi-penalty proved to be too much to overcome as the Combo went through to the quarter final on a 3-6 to 0-9 scoreline.
Report to follow..........
For the Clooney-Quin Under 21 Hurlers, Saturday is "D-Day" as they take on Inagh/Kilnamona in the first round of the Under 21 "A" Championship. Having spent the last number of weeks training diligently, Eoin Gallaghers men will need to be at their very best to get the better of the Combo side. The start time has changed to 4.30PM in the Eire Og GAA Grounds, so try get along to support the team.
Best of Luck, men!
Sunday next will see a large number of Clooney/Quin GAA members heading to Croke Park as the Clare Under 21 hurlers go in search of their first ever All-Ireland Title. Following their thrilling extra time win over Galway in the semi-final, the Clare lads will take on the all-conquering Kilkenny. Lets hope our lads can halt their progress and bring the title to the County. Best of Luck to Cillian, the Clare team and the Mentors.
Come on The Banner!

Newly crowned Munster Under 21 hurling Champions, Clare will take to the field in Thurles on Saturday against the Joe Canning led Galway side in the All-Ireland Under 21 Semi-Finalat 2.30PM. Having secured their first ever Munster title at this Grade, with Cillian Duggan in their midst, the Clare lads will be determined to reach an All-Ireland Final in September.
We wish Cillian, Ciarán and the lads all the best on Saturday.
