Following their defeat to Parteen in Round 3, our U-16 footballers got their championship ambitions very much back on track last evening in Hennessey Park when they played The Banner in their final group match.
Having led by two points at half time, our boys put in superb 2nd half performance in conditions that were far from ideal. Indeed, as one of our subs was about to enter the fray, he was overheard asking Pat Mac if he could borrow his boat to ease his passage over the 'lake' that had formed in front of the stand!
With the help of goals from Richie Hennessey and David Reynolds, Clooney Quin eased their way to a 2.8 to 1.1 victory.
The boys have now qualified for the semi-final which will be played in a few weeks time..
