In the last game of the U16 'B' Championship, Clooney Quin gilrs defeated Liscannor by a single point. The final scoreline was 2-2 to Clooney Quin and 0-7 to Liscannor.
The game played in a wind swept Moher pitch was a tight, low scoring game where the fitness and defense of the Clooney Quin girls held out for a vitial win. The game opened with Clooney Quin playing against the wind. Liscannor opened a 0-3 lead before Nicole Riordain scored a hard worked goal. Liscannor added another 2 points beore Clooney Quin scored the last point of the first half to leave the score at half time, Clooney Quin 1-1 Liscannor 0-5.
The second half started with Marie Hehir scoring a great goal, however, both defences were in top form and Liscannor hit back to score two more points before Clooney Quin got the last point of the game. They were a number of anxious moments as Liscannor looked for the equalising point but the Clooney Quin defence held out.
Clooney Quin have now won 3 and drawn 1 games and now look forward to the final stages of this competition.
