Best of luck to our U16 Footballers who will face Coolmeen/Kildysart on this Saturday in Lissycasey (please note change of venue) at 12 noon in the replay of the Co. Div.3 Football Final. After the thrills and excitement of the drawn final, supporters will be expecting more drama this weekend. The question is: which team will have learned most from the Cusack Park encounter? Let’s hope the answer is ‘Clooney/Quin’!

Clooney/Quin U14 Hurlers may have missed out on a place in the Co. semi-final following their agonising 3-6 to 1-10 play-off defeat to Newmarket-on Fergus last weekend, but they have qualified for the Shield Final. Tulla are our opponents in this one and the final is fixed for Tommy Daly Park at 6pm on this Friday evening ahead of the Clare Cup game between the same two clubs that gets underway at 7pm. While not always getting the deserved results, this team has been playing some fantastic hurling in the 2012 campaign. We urge all CQ supporters heading to the senior match to travel over early and give your support to the U14s as well.

The Clooney/Quin Junior "A" hurlers, who are competing in the Intermediate League, took on a very strong Cratloe side that contained several players with Senior Championship experience in Clooney on Tuesday evening last.
Facing into the breeze, the home side, without the services of a number of their more senior players, had a very youthful look to them and it took them a while to settle. Unfortunately, in that first half, the visitors notched up a significant lead, with the scoreline at 2-10 to 1-4 at the break.
With some words of advice from Manager, Sean Earls, the side set about reducing the defecit in the 2nd half, and did so magnificently, with an excellent half of hurling. They reduced the lead to a single point with time almost up, but the experienced Cratloe side rallied and ran out winners on a 3-16 to 2-13 scoreline. Defeated, the Clooney/Quin side can look ahead to the remainder of the Competition with renewed hope as they won't meet a more experienced side than they faced on Tuesday evening.
On this Sunday at 12 noon its the turn of the Clonlara Intermediate side who take on Clooney/Quin in Clooney in the League.
The Senior hurlers travelled to Clarecastle in Round 4 of the Clare Cup on Friday last, with victory going to the home side on a 0-14 to 1-6 scoreline. Peter Duggan was the Clooney/Quin goalscorer.
In Round 5, Clonlara will take on Clooney/Quin in Clooney on this Saturday at 4.30pm.
The Laura Colleran memorial walk in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis unit at Mid Western Regional Hospital Limerick will take place on bank holiday Monday the 7th of May. This walk will take place in Quin and is being organized by the Clooney Quin Camogie and Ladies Football Club. Registeration for this event will commence at 11:30 on Monday in Quin Hall and the event will start at 12:00. Your support would be very much appreciated for this worthy cause.
