Bertie could have started this tiff in Cork to take the heat off himself. It is still unbelievable though. I mean Cork people love themselves normally don’t they? So how could this happen? Well, do you know what,

I don’t care. The amount of press this has received is unwarranted. I took a look at the “Irish Examiner” last week to see if I could pick up some previews on the league games for the weekend. There were 2 pages on this tiff, a small section on Tipp and Offaly, and no mention of anyone else! Its still “de paayper” alright.  So lets make something positive out of this. Nothing like winning a few euros from the bookie for the “didn’t I tell you” and that know-all feeling.  Cork, Kilkenny and Tipp are out on their own in regard to the role of honour.  Will Cork win this year? Not in my view. The margins between defeat and victory are too slim now. This tiff is too much of a distraction to bounce back this year.  Will there be someone from outside Kilkenny and Tipp? There are only 3 that could.  Waterford. No way for me. They’re a bit like Newcastle under Keegan last time. The only way the blahs can defend is if they put up a cricket score at the other end. No sign of a full back and goalie to shore it up.  Limerick? Don’t ask me how they made it to the business end of last year. Its all huff, puff and raw power. Got well whipped by better teams in both the Munster and All Ireland finals. They just don’t have it, and don’t give me the minor and U21 success thing. What has it done for Galway?  Galway? No belief. No leaders and Lockie is made for Limerick, but not Galway. Improving but have little chance.  Clare, Offaly, Wexford are only making up numbers. (Clare’s prospects for another day discussion) That brings us back nicely to Tipp. Babs, the misfortune, was past his sell by date and Tipp suffered badly because of it. (Sounded a bit like the junior selector above) Can you imagine listening to him and trying to be positive about your chances as a team? Liam Sheedy is a different operator though, Eoin Kelly is in his best from for 5 years and with him Tipp have the best chance beyond the Cats of lifting the cup.  So, money where the mouth is? I’m putting it on Tipp at 11 / 1 and a few more on each way to cover it. I’m positive, that you know….
