Scanlon's late double sinks Kilburn

GAA Collins Cup Kilburn Gaels 0-10 Sean Treacys 3-11

Super-sub Gerry Scanlon stepped off the bench to strike twice for Sean Treacys and sink Kilburn Gaels at a blustery Ruislip on Saturday. By Damian Dolan - 18/04/08 Having flown out of the blocks, Treacys saw their early three-point lead slowly whittled away as Kilburn began to take full advantage of the elements that favoured them in the opening half. Six-points adrift at the break, some stern words from Sean Treacys manager Martin Carroll greeted his side, and they duly produced a superb second-half display as they restricted the Gaels to a single-point. Led by a man of the match display from Ian Walsh, the Treacys chipped away at that six-point deficit, but having then surged into a four-point lead, they still needed the double intervention of goal poacher extraordinaire Scanlon to put the result beyond doubt.
