You are all invited and welcome to attend the Open Evening for supporters which will be held at Cusack Park on this Friday, May 11th from 8pm. This is an opportunity for supporters to meet players and management, get autographs signed and attend a training session. There will also be a “Beat the Keeper competition for the children, as well as different skills to try out with the players. The intention is to promote support for our senior hurling and football teams and encourage people to attend the Munster championship games between Clare and Waterford/Limerick in football on June 09th and Clare and Waterford in hurling at Semple Stadium on Sunday June 17th. Children are encouraged to attend in their county/club gear. The slogan for this year’s championship promotions is “Nothing beats being there”

The replay of the U16 Div.3 Football Final is scheduled for Saturday May 19th when Clooney/Quin and Colmeen/Kildysart will again do battle.

Our U14 Hurlers put in an excellent performance against Ballyea last Friday before eventually losing by 3-13 to 2-11. Following the results from all of Friday’s matches, Ballyea, Corofin/Ruan and Scariff/Ogonnelloe have now qualified for the semi-finals. Clooney/Quin and Newmarket have finished on equal points and will meet on this Friday evening in a play-off to join the other three. It was agreed to toss for venue for this tie and The Blues got the lucky call. Consequently, the play-off match will take place in Newmarket with a throw-in time of 7pm. These two sides are very evenly matched, and, of course, it was a late goal that gave the visitors a share of the spoils when the teams met at Hennessy Park at the start of the campaign. It’s unlikely that there will be much between the sides this week either.  So, a sizeable travelling support might make the difference!

The Clare U16 Div. 3 Football Final between Clooney/Quin and Coolmeen/Kildysart will take place in Cusack Park on this May Bank Holiday Monday at 5pm. Please come along and support the boys!

Our U16 Footballers are through to the Co. Final following victory in last Monday’s semi-final when they overcame Naomh Eoin/O’Curry’s in a thrilling encounter on a score line of 4-6 to 1-9. Their opponents in the final will be another amalgamation in the form of Coolmeen/Kildysart. Details of this fixture are not yet available but will be added to the club website as soon as they are. In the meantime, get the flags out!
