A number of families in the community and indeed within the club, have been afflicted by cancer in recent times and, apart from sympathy and prayers, there is little one can do to assist them.
With that in mind, friends of Clooney/Quin GAA Club are organising a sponsored climb for Cancer Research...................
The intention is to climb Carrantuohill, the highest Mountain in Ireland, some time around the Bank Holiday weekend, May 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
To prepare for this event, a meeting will be held in the GAA Clubhouse on Tuesday evening next, February 10th at 8.30PM.
We would encourage as many members to participate as is possible, commencing on Tuesday evening when we hope that a large number of members will attend and show our support for the families that have been affected by this disease.
