In what has turned out to be a most unusual Community Event, two hundred and three hardy souls from Clooney/Quin GAA Club and the local community hit the road early on Saturday morning and headed for the MacGillycuddys Reeks in Kerry, some doing a 10K walk in the Hags Glen, the rest to climb Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain, in aid of the Irish Cancer Society......
The event was a tremendous success, with much needed funds being raised for the Charity. All participants had a challenging day, though it was most enjoyable, with everyone returning home safely after the days exertions. All that remains now is for those who have pledged sponsorship to pass it onto the volunteers who will have a final figure within the next couple of weeks.
A function is being planned where the final cheque will be handed over to the Irish Cancer Society.
Well done to all who took part in the Event and thanks also to those who sponsored the volunteers!
