Its something that has never been seen in Clare, let alone the Parish of Clooney/Quin, but Cillian Duggan has a Munster Under 21 hurling medal following Clares outstanding victory over a fancied Waterford side in Dungarvan on Wednesday evening last.
A large number of Clooney/Quin supporters made the long trip to the picturesque Waterford town, and were rewarded with a game of high quality and intensity, with drama to the end, and, the one vital element, a Clare victory.
Following twelve failures in Munster Under 21 Finals, the Clare boys, with our own Cillian in their midst, claimed Clares first ever Provincial Under 21 Title, and Clares first Provincial title since 1998.
Congratulations to Cillian and the entire Clare Panel and Management team.
Come on the Banner!
