The Inter-County Underage Hurling tournaments will take place this weekend. Clare will send teams at U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-17. There is great experience to be gained from hurling at this level and it can only benefit the hurling development of these young players and their clubs....................

Clooney/Quin has been well represented on these teams over the years and, thanks to the coaches in the Minor Club, 2008 is no exception.
Keith Hogan will be heading to Waterford for the Tony Forristal U-14 Tournament where Clare are drawn in a group with Wexford and Tipperary.
Peter Duggan, Jason Ryan and David Barry will wear the Clare jerseys in Cork in the U-15 tournament.
Bryan McInerney travels to Kilcolman, Co. Tipperary with the Clare U-16s as they take part in the prestigious Tipperary Supporters Club All-Ireland U-16 Tournament. There, they will play Cork and Dublin in the group stages.
Injury has denied Seamus Conroy a starting place with the Clare U-17s as they will play Waterford in the opening round at Mallow on Sat.
There are other players in the club who were very close to selection on these panels. Next year might be their turn. Everybody in Clooney/Quin wishes these young men the best of luck. Come on The Banner!
