To mark the 125th Anniversary of the Establishment of the GAA by Clareman Michael Cusack in 1884, the GAA have nominated Sunday, May 10th as Lá na gClub, National Club Day..................

Each Club throughout the country has been asked to celebrate this special Anniversary within its Community in a suitable manner.
To this end, Clooney/Quin GAA Club intend to have a Day of Special Events which will reflect the contribution the GAA has made to the Parish down the years.
A Fun Day where all Families in the Community will be invited to take part in various activities will be held at the Clubs Grounds.
The highlight of the Day will be a Parade, featuring personalities that have influenced the History of the GAA within the Parish, both on the playing fields and off them. It will feature local stars of Hurling, Football, Camogie, Ladies Football and Handball.
As Cusack was also a Champion of Irish Culture, the local Scór representatives will feature during the Event.
Current and future stars of the Club will not be left out either, with the underage hurlers, camogie, ladies football and handballers also to the fore.
As this is a major undertaking, the Club will be seeking assistance with the event. One area where assistance is needed is in alerting former GAA Club personalities who now live away from the Parish that an open Invitation exists and all former members will be made more than welcome. It is hoped that some of these members will form an integral part of the Parade, as we give due recognition to their efforts down the years.
Further information will be available shortly from Officers of the relevant units of the Club. Until then, get the word out that Sunday, May 10th will be a one to remember for years to come.
