Our Boys Do Good
Though the County Senior and Intermediate hurlers lost both their matches in Thurles on Monday, our two players who were involved in both matches did us proud.
In the Curtain-raiser, Martin Duggan lined out at corner forward for the Intermediates and turned in a very impressive performance, notching three second half points
from play to bring Clare back into the game. Unfortunately, for Martin and Clare, it was not enough to save the day as the goal scored by Waterford at the start of
the 2nd half proved the difference between the sides as The Deise held on for a 1-13 to 0-13 win.
In the Senior game, Fergal Lynch lined out at full forward for Sparrow O'Loughlins Men and was instrumental in setting up a number of scores for the team in both halves.
As Waterford gained a strangle-hold of the match in the half-back line, the supply lines to the full forward line dried up, locals were hoping that Fergal might have been
deployed in the half-forward line in an effort to secure a famous victory. Alas, this move didn't materialise and Clare were were eventually defeated by 0-22 to 1-15.
Well done to both players. Ye did the Club and Parish proud, men!
