The Intermediate hurlers came up against a strong Eire Og side in Round 2 of the Championship last Saturday and, after a game of open, skillful hurling, went down on a 0-23 to 2-6 scoreline. The Townies, featuring a number of experienced players, along with a number of players that captured the County Under 21 A Title earlier this year, were full value for their win. Its not every day out Intermediates will come up against such a strong side, but are still on course to qualify for the quarter-final stages.
