Ruislip was home to a number of Clooney-Quin supporters on Sunday as the Noel Harrison trained Kilburn Gaels Hurling side claimed the Clubs first ever London Senior Hurling title in spectacular style with a merited 3-11 to 0-7 point victory over Sean Tracey's in the Final.
Since moving to London,Noel joined forces with "The Gaels", who have links with Clooney-Quin primarily through The O'Neill Family in Quin, with Brian and Stephanie having spent many years as Members. Indeed, their children, Damien, Jessica and Ryan all received their early GAA Coaching in Kilburn Gaels as they grew up in the area.
Once he had settled in at the Club, Noel was given the task of training and Coaching the Senior hurling team, and boy did the players deliver  for Noel and the Club, with a great Seasons hurling. In fact, their domestic season isn't yet over as they are in contention to do the Double, with the League Title still up for grabs. Later on this year, in early December, they will contest the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Championship with a tie against the Leinster Champions.
So, Noel and his players will be busy for a couple of more months at least!
Congratulations to Noel and the considerable Clare association with the success, with Sixmilebridges John Reddan, Ogonnelloes Brian (Captain) and Colm Forde, Philip Fennessy from Clonlara and Rory O'Connor from Kilmaley lining out for the Kilburn men. The Backroom team also featured Rorys father, Michael O'Connor from Kilmaley.
