The Big News of the week surrounds the announcement that Clooney-Quin GAA Club are currently planning for the Official Opening of their new pitch which will take place on Sunday, May 22nd.
The feature match will see Clare take on 2010 Allianz National Hurling League Champions, Galway. Both sides will be close to full strength for the clash as it will take place close to their counties Championship starts. The Galway side is expected to feature such Stars as Joe Canning, Ger Farragher, Damien Hayes  and Tony Og Regan.
The evening will also see the Unveiling of commemorative plaques in Memory of former Club members, Amby Power, who captained Clare to All-Ireland success in 1914, Mick Hennessy, Brendan Vaughan and Seamus Reddan. A number of Underage Mini-games will also take place.
Some Members are currently working on a Souvenier Programme to mark the occasion, which will include a mix of the Old and New., with some articles on the Club History, those people who dedicated their Lives to working for the Club plus a number of featured articles from some well-known Journalists and Personalities.
