The Official Opening of the second pitch at Clooney-Quin GAA Grounds on Sunday evening last was a tremendous success. A large crowd, inexcess of 1,000 attended the Senior hurling game between Clare and Galway, which proved to be an entertaining contest. There were many familiar faces in attendance on Sunday, with many former hurlers and camogie players meeting-up and recalling stories from their playing days.
Family members of the four people honoured by the unveiling of plaques were also in attendance. The Club would like to thank Fr. McInerney and Fr. Collins for the Official Opening and Blessing of the pitch.
When the Club officers asked for a big volunteer effort to prepare and run the event, our Club Members were not found wanting.
The response once again was outstanding. Well done to those who had the task of preparing the pitch, which was in excellent condition for the match.
Also, to the many Stewards that helped with the Traffic Management and Crowd Control, the brilliant Catering Ladies and everyone else that helped in so many ways, the Club say, a massive "Thank You"....
Míle Buíochas!
