In the Senior game, Fergal Lynch and his Clare team-mates turned in a
stirring performance against reigning All-Ireland Hurling Champions,
Tipperary in a thrilling game. The winning margin flattered the Tipp
men in the end, but the Clare team gave their all and can now look
forward in confidence to a Qualifier clash with neighbours, Galway in
Salthill on Saturday week, July 2nd. Ironically, the sides met just
recently at the Official Opening of Clooney-Quins new pitch. Lets hope
the game in Pierse Stadium finishes with a similar result as Clare won
on that occasion with six points to spare.

Fergal, leading the Clare attack from the centre-forward position,  and his Clare team-mates gave their all and matched the Tipperary challenge for long periods of the game, in particular the first half when the Clare side were on fire and really took the game to the Tipperary men.
The Clare side now must prepare for the Round 2 Qualifier clash with neighbours, Galway in Salthill on Saturday week, July 2nd.
