Clooney hosted the group stages of Clare Feile B on Sunday evening.  CLooney-Quin, Crusheen, Eire Og, Feakle/Killanena and Sixmilebridge were the teams involved.  In a great evening of games where each team played each other Clooney-Quin came out on top of the group with four wins from four games. Clooney-Quin defeated Sixmilebridge, the group runners up, in round 1 on a score line of 4-03 to 1-2 with scores coming from Niamh McGee, Emma Considine, Holly Deegan, and Emma Quinn. In round 2 Clooney-Quin defeated Eire Og 2-04 to 0-02 with scores coming from Saidhbh Spellisy, Emma Considine, Lauren Wall and Naimh McGee. In round 3 Clooney-Quin defeated Feakle-Killanena in a very tight game and low scoring game 1-01 to 1-00 with Clionadh Ryan and Emily Costello on the score sheet.  In the final game of the evening in round 5 Clooney-Quin defeated Crusheen 2-02 to 0-03 with Niamh McGee, Jenny O’Connor and Emma Considine on the score sheet.

The panel played brilliant throughout on a long tough evening.  The back line were outstanding with Amy Senton in goals in top form, and Anna Doyle, Abi O’Sullivan and Molly Slattery the dominant half back line that set it all up.  CLiodhna Ryan was top class at Full back and also when coming to mid field. Lucy Cassidy returning to play and Ellie McNamara.  The  full panel got plenty game time and the spread of scorers on the evening was very encouraging for the girls.

Clooney-Quin will now contest the Clare B Feile semi-final against Clarecastle on Saturday next.  Kilmaley and Sixmilebridge play in the second semi-final with the semi-final winners playing the final also on Saturday evening.
