This week the Club hosted a very successful GAA camp for u6 to u12 boys and girls. An average of 80 children took part each day.
Coaches from Clooney Quin and elsewhere delivered high quality intensive coaching which will hopefully add to the skill set of our players. Outside coaches included Kevin Hehir (Clare u21 hurler), Clare Hehir (Clare senior camogie), Eibhear Quilligan (Clare u21’s) Shane McGrath (Clare u21’s), Peter Casey (Clare u21 coach), Peter Duggan (Clare senior hurler), Chloe Morey (Clare senior camogie), David McInerney (Clare senior hurler), Joe Hayes (Clare senior footballer) and Gary Brennan (Clare senior footballer).
The weather held up for most of the time and the children revelled in the variety and attention shown to them. Many thanks to the Club managements for making their equipment available to the camp.
We hope that this camp will become an annual feature of our calendar.
Thanks to club members Kevin O’Brien, Jenny Costello, Orla Considine and John Condon for their hard work. But a special thanks to the children who attended in large numbers and made the camp thoroughly enjoyable for their fellow participants and the coaches.
