There was a massive turnout for Cul Camp at ClooneyQuin last week. Over 215 children turned up for the weeks football and hurling activities.

This will probably be the largest Cul Camp in Clare in 2016. The fantastic attendance created a small headache for the organisers – would the facilities in Clooney be able to cope with such a large number of children?

To ensure that the comfort and safety of the children was not put at risk, the organisers decided to spilt the camp and moved all activities for children over 10 years to the Clare Centre of Excellence facilities at Caherlohan.

While this added some inconvenience for parents the enjoyment of the children was secured.

The Cul Camp coaches did a great job – the children went home every day tired but happy. The coaches were very satisfied with the overall behaviour of the children and were delighted with their enthusiasm and skill levels when playing hurling and football.

Well done to all the children.

Well done to Sean Chaplain and his team of coaches.
