Clooney-Quin 3-14 v 1-04 Parteen

Clooney-Quin laid the foundation for this semi-final win with a solid first half performance.  The home side dominated the first half of the game and were 1-11 to nil in front at half time.  The Clooney-Quin scores coming from Sinead Considine, Sarah Costello, Mairead Ryan and Emma Deegan who also scored the goal of the half.
Clooney-Quin were first on the board again in the second half but Parteen kept working hard and recorded their first score of the game just five minutes into the second half. Scores were scarce in the second period and Marie Keating broke the deadlock when making a cutting run through the center went all the way to the goal and palmed the ball past Eimear Kelly.  Indeed Kelly was superb in the Parteen goal with many fine saves in the game and long range puck outs.  Sinead Considine and Emma Deegan added points for the winners and yet the Parteen fight was on and they added a further goal and three points with the goal coming from Marie Hall.  In the last puck of the game Sinead Considine with a 50 meter free dropped the ball over Eimear Kelly who was distracted by Aoife O’Connell who had followed the flight of the ball and did enough to take the keepers eye.  Sarah Costello, Orlaith Nash, Kelly MacLean also did very well for the winners.
Clooney-Quin will play the winners of Wolfe Tones and Ballyea/Clarecastle which will be played on Wednesday evening of this week.
