The Junior B hurlers got their championship off the a good start on Friday evening in Bodyke. They drew with Whitegate in their first game in a very competitive game. Clooney Quin were five points down at half time but three goals in the second half had them leading five minutes to go but in the end they shared the spoils.Clooney Quin’s goals came from William Corbett ,Brendan Dolan and 2 goals by Cathal Egan playing along side son Oisin.
The Junior A hurling team have now played two games and won two in their championship run to date. They already had a win over O’Callaghans Mills and got full points from their clash against Ballyea on Saturday evening in Eire Og. This was a tough encounter in the heat and with the likes of Tony Griffin of Ballyea showing no signs wear and tear. Clooney Quin got two late goals one from substitute Ulick O’Sullivan and one from Luke Harrison to seal the win.
