Clooney-Quin 5-11 v 1-05 Clarecastle/Ballyea
Clooney-Quin gave a strong account of themselves on Monday evening in Clooney with a well deserved win over the Magpies.  This game was played in a sporting contest between both clubs second teams at adult level. Clooney-Quin never really looked in danger and led all the way through.  Marie Keating opened the scoring with a point and also on the board before the break were Aoife O’Connell, Eveleen Glynn, Sarah Costello and Mairead Ryan. The half time score was Clooney-Quin 3-7 to Clarecastles 1-2.
In the second half Clooney-Quin kept up the pressure and with strong defensive play especially as the half back line of Mary Conneally, Orlaith Nash and Rachel Begg dominated.  The supply of ball to the forwards kept up and Aoife O’Connell and Sarah Costello converted majors to ensure that the threatened fightback from Clarecastle-Ballyea never worried the home side.

Clooney-Quin 4-5 v 10-2 Broadford
On Tuesday evening Clooney-Quin’s second team hosted Broadford’s first team and while the games was evenly contested Clooney-Quin would lose out in the end.  This was a good test for Clooney-Quin who will meet this side again come championship as they will be playing in Junior A, having won Junior B last year.
Marie Keating was to be first on the score sheet two nights running as this time she goaled early in the game. Clooney-Quin and Broadford traded scores throughout but the visiting team converted more goals and this was the telling point with the game ending 12 scores to 9. At half time it was Clooney-Quin 3-3 to 6-1 with Marie Keating, Sarah Costello, Nicola McNamara, Sinead Considine and Mairead Ryan all on target.  Clooney-Quin were coming to grips with the 13 aside game towards the end of the half, but injury to Orlaith Nash and the test of two games two nights running was too much in the end as Clooney-Quin fought hard in the second half but Broadford had the upper hand.
