Scoil Na Mainistreach’s boys and girls football teams both triumphed at Cusack Park in their division finals.

The girls played first against Clonlara N.S whom they played earlier in the championship. Clonlara scored the first two points of the game and were dominating until a goal from the Quin Dangan full-forward, Sarah Considine-Kelly. From that point onward Quin Dangan were in the driving seat, Another goal from Holly Deegan bagged Scoil Na Mainistrach the win and the Division 2 title with the boys to follow. Full Time Score: Scoil Na Mainistreach 2-3  Clonlara N.S. 0-2.

The pressure was on the boys as if they lost, the girls would have the bragging rights. The boys played St John’s N.S, Cratloe, a several time winner of the cup. Quin Dangan were off to a flying start after a smashing goal from Jack O’ Neill. Cratloe nearly had a swift reply but thanks to a goal-line block from Cormac Egan and a clearance from Sam Scanlan, that robbed from their comeback. Quin Dangan scored another amazing goal from substitute, Dannan Fox, as they cruised ahead for the victory. Full Time Score: Scoil Na Mainistreach 2-2  St John’s N.S, Cratloe 0-2.

Needless to say the Scoil Na Mainistreach contingent were extremely pleased with the result!
