The Clooney Quin senior hurlers bridged a 65 year gap in making it to the senior hurling semi final after defeating Eire Og on Saturday in Cusack Park. The last time Clooney made it this far was in the senior championship was in 1952 against Scarriff in Tulla and Clooney lost the same day by five points. These were different times and the game has advanced so much since these brave club men played their semi final. The new generation will face Clonlara, last years beaten finalists, in the semi final on the weekend of the 23rd/24th of September.
