It was probably inevitable that the Senior Hurlers drew close neighbours, Crusheen in the County Championship quarter final draw held in GAA HQ on Monday evening last, having reached this stage via wins over other neighbouring Clubs, Tulla and Newmarket.
Having had mixed fortunes in the Clare Cup, the Ger O’Halloran Managed side have really buckled down for the Championship and have combined a steely determination to the undoubted skills within the Squad to deservedly reach the Knock-out stages of the Championship for the first time since 2011.
Our opponents, 2010 and 2011 Champions, Crusheen, featuring a mix of experienced Inter-county players with a number of youthful new members, will be warm favorites for this Tie, which is scheduled for Saturday week, September 5th.
With this in mind, the Clooney/Quin Squad have doubled their efforts in Training and have put in a massive effort to be ready for the task ahead.
All we can do is make sure that by Saturday week, we have plenty of Green and Red on show and give the Lads the support they deserve!
