U9/U10 boys hurling and football season has got underway. The boys played their first hurling blitz on April 1st in Caherlohan. We had 3 teams on the day and won all our matches.
The first football blitz was last Saturday April 15th in Eire Og. We had 2 teams and each team played 3 matches. Other clubs participating included Cratloe, Doonbeg, Ballyvaughan,Clan Lir and Ennistymon. Our 2 teams performed brilliantly and won all their matches.
Some of our younger players went on to play for their parish in community games U 10 football on Easter Monday. While they were knocked out at the first game against a stronger Lisdoonvarna side ,they did themselves, their coaches, their parents ,their club and their parish proud.Needless to say they were cheered up when Kevin and Padraig produced the Easter eggs.
Some of our older U10 players hope to participate in U 11 community games hurling on May bank holiday weekend. We have such an enthusiastic bunch it is hoped that Clooney/Quin will field 2 teams .
Training continues Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings in Clooney/Quin GAA pitch
