Last Sunday morning (2nd October) Inagh/ Kilnamona camogie U10 girls travelled to Clooney pitch to play our girls in a challenge match. The morning was glorious which allowed for great playing conditions. Three 7 a-sides games were played where all the girls displayed great skill and determination. As this was the final U10 challenge match for some girls it was decided that the last match of the day would be a 15 a-side game. Goals were quickly readjusted and the playing field extended. Each team huddled on either side of the pitch where trainers gave last minute advice to their players. From the minute the whistle was blown both teams played exceptionally well with great work put in by the Clooney defence. It was an exciting 10 minute a-side game and all girls walked off the pitch delighted with the opportunity to have played a full 15 a-side game. Huge thanks to trainers Brian Stritch, Paddy O’Dywer, Deirdre Murphy and Martin Timmons for their commitment this season and also to the parents who have brought their girls to training & matches all year. It’s been a wonderful year of camogie playing for this tight knit group of U10s girls. All their futures are very bright indeed.
