The U11 hurlers were invited to Monaleen to play in a mini tournament. There were only 3 teams invited and each team played 4 games. Our U11’s first played Monaleen and won, them played Kilmacud Crokes and lost. They then played a Shane Dowling managed Na Piarsaigh and they also won this game. This left Clooney Quin playing Kilmacud Crokes in the final. This was a tough battle between the teams and the Clooney Quin boys dug very deep, knew what they need to to do and played like professionals. On the final whistle the sides were level and no extra time was played. A fair result was to call it a draw as there was nothing between the teams.
This was a great experience for the boys and they were a credit to their Club, Parents and mentors.
Panel : Darren Frain, Dylan Leamy, Shane Harren, Dannan Fox, Jack O’Neill, Adam McMahon, Cillian O’Gara, Cian McNamara, Aidan Keating, David Considine, Sam Scanlan, Lorcan O’Connor, Alex Madigan and John Cahill.
After a long morning/afternoon of hurling in Monaleen they boys dusted themselves down and were back for more on Monday evening in one of their round games of the U11 competition. This time they had to do battle with Inagh/Kilnamona and both U11 and U10 teams won well over the visitors to Clooney.
