The U11 hurlers travelled to Newport Co Tipperary on Saturday afternoon to play 3 matches against Newport, Ahane and Eire Og of Nenagh. The games were played with 15 a side which would have been a first for many of these hurlers but they really took it in their stride and settled into the formation very well. On the day 20 boys travelled down and each player played the same amount of time in each game. The aim of this blitz was to have more boys playing and less on the sideline. This really was a great exercise for the U11’s and they were very competitive in all their games.
This trip to Newport was the U11’s first time playing together this year and they gathered again Monday evening to play their first U11 game in the Clare leagues. This game was in Kilmaley against Kilmaley. Clooney Quin brought 2 teams one consisted of the older U11’s and the other the younger U11’s. Both teams won their games and will be out again next Monday for the next league game
