U14 Camogie Clooney Quin 2-05 v 1-00 Sixmilebridge
In an exciting game in Clooney last Thursday evening the hosts and winners led all the way but not without withstanding a big fight back from Sixmilebridge.
It was a low scoring game with Clooney getting the opening score from Moya Dunne. Continued Clooney pressure ended in a Roisin Corbett point to give a two point lead. A 45 struck by Sinead McGee and doubled on by Roisin Corbett gave Clooney Quin a 1-2 lead to nil at the break.
Sixmilebridge started well in the second half and threatened the goal on a number of occasions but the defense held strong with three fine saves from Emma Considine and the whole back unit on top with Roisin Keogh solid at full back helped by Emer Moynihan and Niamh McGee. Roisin Corbett got a further 1-1 & Sinead McGee converted 2 frees confirmed Clooney’s win. This was a great team performance all over the pitch by the home side. Keep it up girls.
