The U15 team got their league campaign off to a positive start when they played Cratloe/Parteen on Tuesday evening last, June 23rd.
The visiting side were coming to Clooney on a high after a historic weekend at Féile where they won the Divison 5 All-Ireland title. This was a great achievement for such a young club.
The Clooney girls though were in determined form and worked hard for eachother and were ahead at the break on a scoreline of 1-02 to 0-02. Clooney Quins scores came from Sinead Considine and the goal from Rebecca Keane.
The second half was a tight affair with Clooney Quin getting with an early point from Sinead Considine and Rebecca Keane getting a rebounded goal. Cratloe fought back with two goals and this put pressure on our girls. The home girls continued to work hard and Ciara Halpin broke through from mid field to have the final say in the game.
Clooney won out in the end with 3-04 to 2-03 scoreline.
