Ruan 5-2 to 6-7 Clooney-Quin
Clooney-Quin visited Ruan on Monday evening last for the opening round of the U15 league.
Clooney-Quin were very busy in the first half and were on the score board through Emer Moynihan, Clionadh Ryan and Roisin Keogh. This was backed up with strong work in defense from Sinead McGee and Caoimhe Leamy and Rebeca Keane very busy at mid field. This gave the visitors a 3-3 to no score lead.
This did not last as the home side worked hard and opened the Clooney-Quin defense with runs from Amy O’Donoghue and she had two goals inside the opening five minutes of the second half. This was halted momentarily with a free from Sinead McGee then O’Donoghue pointed before Zara Waterhouse goaled to leave just three points between the teams. After reorganising the Clooney Quin side the team setteled and Cliodhna Ryan and Amy O’Donoghue traded goals. Sinead McGee and again O’Donoghue traded goals as the game moved at a fast pace up and down the field. Then Clooney-Quin dominated again to close out the game with a goal and two points from Emer Moynihan. Zara Waterhouse pointed for Ruan as they continued to fight on but the final score of the game fell to the winners with a goal for Cliodhna Ryan. Clooney-Quin edged a fast paced game in the end.
