There was great anticipation among the players and mentors of the U16B football team heading into this county final as the last time Clooney Quin met Wolfe Tones they could not be separated and the game ended in a draw.  Kilmihil was the venue for the final , a little far from home for both teams to say the least but the game was played at a very high intensity and high quality as both teams gave it everything throughout. Clooney Quin had keeper Liam Keating sent off for a double yellow booking in the second half and Wolfe Tones also had a man sent off for an infringement in the second half. Nothing separated the teams again at full time so it was on to extra time to decide a winner. Unfortunately, the game was abandoned due to a very serious injury to the Wolfe Tones keeper after he got up to save a rebounding penalty from Clooney Quins John Conneally. The club would like to wish the young lad a speedy recovery. They game will now be replayed some time after the junior cert exams.
