It was a short trip to near neighbours New Market on Fergus last Saturday morning, where the under 8s boys took part in a hurling blitz. The coaches were really pleased with the improvement in hurling skills on display from the U8s. Nothing could dampen the spirit of these Clooney/Quin boys who were first back onto the pitch once the heavy rain abated for the 4th and final match. Lots of goals were scored and the boys really enjoyed the chance to display their skills, including the opportunity to rise and strike the ball from the hand in the second half of the last game. Thanks to hosts New Market on Fergus for an enjoyable morning of hurling.
