U8 hurlers are half way through their planned season. So far they have completed 18 training sessions and participated in 3 Go Games blitz.
To date the U8s have been concentrating on perfecting their ground striking technique, left and right hand sides, throwing technique (fundamental movement for hand passing) and agility.
The U8s are now learning jab lift and catching and are about to commence learning striking from the hand. The boys participation has been excellent and progress has been steady.
To date 49 boys have participated with an average attendance at training of 32.
Coaching this number of children can only be effective if there is a strong coaching team. Having a good adult to child ratio increases the volume of quality skill repetition and enhances the child learning experience.
