U6,8,10 Camogie
Girls have been very busy at Cúl Camp all week therefore there will be no training for these groups on Saturday morning. U8 & 10 girls will return to training on Tuesday evening next 14th 6-7pm.
The U8 girls recently hosted a blitz and played three very competitive games against Smith O’Briens, Ballyea and Broadford. The girls improved greatly during the games and the young girls have a very bright future ahead for them. They did very well in all the games narrowly losing to Smith O’Briens, Ballyea proved too strong and the girls deserved their win over Broadford to finish of a great evening of games.
U12 Camogie
The girls had a tough challenge against Kilkishen in their final game of the U12 Mini League. While Clooney -Quin had done very well in the league up to now, they had lost only once in their group stages and came second in their group. Kilkishen had also come second in their group but proved just too strong for Clooney-Quin on Wednesday evening. Lauren Wall was first off the mark with a goal for Clooney but Killkishen responded shortly after with a deflected shot. A quickly taken free by Cliodhna Ryan was judged to have been taken too fast and the resulting score not counted and the retake was just saved on the line. A close in free for Kilkishen was rocketed into the net and Kilkishen had one more goal before the break leaving the score 1 goal to 3 for Kilkishen at the break. Clooney were playing very well but were not able to capitalise on scoring chances. Kilkishen added three more in the last ten minutes of the match and Clooney’s had one point from Clionadha Ryan. Anna Doyle did well, despite the scores, in goal for Clooney with Niamh McGee, Lucy Cassidy, Emma Considine, Emily Costelloe, Abi O’Sullivan and Lauren Wall doing well for the girls.
The girls will be busy preparing now for the Clooney run U12 tournament on Saturday July 18th and 25th.
